It Ends With Us

 It Ends With Us

It Ends With Us is a thoughtful read from Colleen Hoover, full of feelings, heartbreak, pain, and realization. It Ends With Us is a tale of love, loss, betrayal, and individual choices that centers on a young woman named Lily. Lily believes her dreams have come true when she meets Ryle, a successful surgeon. Lily is aware that the circumstances are better for her now that she has left her small-town upbringing behind her. Lily quickly learns, though, that Ryle isn't the ideal husband. Despite being endearing and intelligent, Ryle struggles in romantic relationships.

The reader quickly learns what to expect when they open It Ends With Us thanks to a strong personal dedication from the author. It Ends With Us is a powerful contemporary romance novel that will leave you feeling quite raw, exposed, conflicted, and teary.
Lily, the sympathetic lead and the book's protagonist, won my heart right away. I had the impression that Lily might be our friend, sister, coworker, or just a familiar face. Lily's experiences are incredibly relatable and compelling. The life of Lily is a good example of many women today, in the past, and in the future.

The themes of domestic violence and emotional abuse in It Ends With Us may be a little too personal for some readers, which is why I'm issuing this trigger warning. To be clear, Colleen Hoover has a very respectable approach to these important topics as a result of her own personal history. In this regard, I was very impressed with Hoover for managing to maintain her objectivity in spite of a challenging past. I admired the author's decision to do this.
